Welcome to the Asia Pacific Women's Advocacy (WAVES)

WAVES is a Section of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), established in 2021 to support and advocate for women in orthopaedics.

We bring together female orthopaedic surgeons, trainees, and male champions of change to build a more diverse, inclusive, and supportive orthopaedic community across the Asia Pacific region.

What We Do?

Advocacy

We advocate for gender equity and improved working conditions for women in orthopaedic surgery.
                               

Mentorship & Support

We connect trainees and surgeons through mentorship, sponsorship, and professional guidance.

Visibility & Leadership

We promote visible role models and encourage more women to pursue orthopaedic surgery.

Education & Collaboration

We support educational opportunities, research, and collaboration with regional and international partners.
