      Welcome to the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Research Society (APORS)


      The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Research Society (APORS) was established in 2017 as a professional scientific organization dedicated to advancing orthopaedic research across the Asia Pacific region.

      Recognizing that many countries in the region face limitations in participating in high-level orthopaedic research due to constraints in funding, expertise, and infrastructure. APORS was formed under the leadership of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) to address these gaps.

      APORS is committed to strengthening research capacity, increasing awareness of the value of orthopaedic research, and ultimately improving patient outcomes and public health across the region.



  • Building Orthopaedic Research Capacity in ASEAN

      Advances in musculoskeletal science have highlighted the need to further develop research capacity, particularly in emerging and developing countries within the region. However, in many ASEAN nations, orthopaedic research remains in its early stages, with limited active research groups and infrastructure.

      To address this, APORS supported by APOA has established the ASEAN Orthopaedic Research Section (ASEAN ORS) as a collaborative platform to strengthen regional research efforts.

      This initiative:

      • Supports ASEAN countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar
      • Enables collaboration across nations that may not yet have standalone research societies
      • Provides a pathway for affiliation with the International Combined Orthopaedic Research Society (ICORS)
      • Encourages participation from non-ASEAN countries where applicable, in accordance with ICORS guidelines

      APORS welcomes all eligible nations to participate and contribute to this growing research network.
