    • 1989 Constitution Approved

      • Event: Second council meeting, Singapore
      • Decisions: Constitution formally approved; each member country to have 2 representatives; elections for office-bearers.

    • 1991–1992 Combined Meetings & Organizational Growth

      • Event: First Combined Spine & Paediatric Section Meeting in Korea.
      • Leadership: Dr In-Young Ok (Chair, 1992–1995)
      • Decisions: Singapore bank account opened; donation of USD 2,000 received from 1991 meeting organizers.

    • 1994–1996 International Alliances

      • Event: Council explored POSNA affiliation (USA)
      • Achievement: Accepted as POSNA Alliance Member, 1996, Phoenix, Arizona

    • 1995–1998 Leadership & Meetings

      • Event: Council meeting in Hong Kong, 1995
      • Leadership: Dr Chiaki Hamanishi (Chair, 1995–1998), Dr Ian Torode (Vice-Chair), Dr Aziz Nather (Secretary/Treasurer)
      • Decision: Plan for co-hosted combined meeting in Kochi, Japan, 1996

    • 1998 Fukuoka & IFPOS Representation

      • Event: 8th Council Meeting in Fukuoka, Japan
      • Leadership: Dr Eng Hin Lee (Chair, 1998–2001), Dr Ian Torode (Vice-Chair), Dr Jack C Y Cheng (Secretary/Treasurer)
      • Decision: APPOS represents Asia-Pacific in IFPOS
