Objectives
Learning modules target audience: Young orthopaedic doctors and surgeons, residents, trainees, doctors, and surgeons handling infection cases, doctors and surgeons keen on topic of diagnostics/infection, all surgeons.
Learning modules objectives:
1. Importance of microbiology: the science (Why, What, How).
• Importance of timely confirmation of the infection.
• Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Specialist
• Etiology identification and bacterial resistance profile information.
• Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Specialist and Biomerieux
• Risk factors for Joint Infection.
• Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Specialist
2. The role of diagnostics: available test and technology, when to use, how to use, what they can and cannot provide.
• Diagnostic criteria for joint infection.
• Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Specialist and Biomerieux
• Key clinical features of most common differentials.
• Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Specialist
3. Diagnostic stewardship: synergy (collaboration) between diagnostic stewardship and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Making a reliable diagnosis
• Identifying a reliable treatment
• Quickly and effectively
• Barriers to collaboration _
• Ortho to speak about difficulties and then discuss more modern technology and limits so far

4. Connecting the dots: patient pathway.Educations

5. Management of joint infection and patient education.

Method of delivery
• Online using MOOC on Moodle and Moodle app
• Single course available over a period of one week with certification maintained by Open Learning
• Certification provided by Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Education and Section (Infection)
• Signatories would be Course director, Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association infection Section Chairman and Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association Education Chairman
• Major logos provided would be Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association main logo and the Infection Section logo.

• Proprietary to the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association
Acknowledging
